Egg Freezing (Oocyte Preservation)

Egg Freezing (Oocyte Preservation)

What is Egg Freezing?

Oocyte Cryopreservation, commonly referred to as Egg Freezing, is a medical procedure that involves freezing and storing a woman’s oocytes (eggs) for future use.
As with every fertility related issue, age matters. The quality of a woman's eggs declines gradually as she grows older. When egg quality declines, the chance of pregnancy decreases and the risk of miscarriage and genetic abnormality increases.

Who Should Consider Egg Freezing?

What are the Benefits of Egg Freezing?

The primary benefit of Egg Freezing is that it allows women to delay pregnancy and preserve their fertility. This can be especially beneficial for women who want to focus on their careers or other life goals before starting a family. It can also be helpful for women who may be facing medical treatments that could affect their fertility, such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy, for cancer and other non-cancerous conditions including uterine fibroids (recurrent) and endometriosis.
